Martin Chipperfield emigrated to Canada in 1965 and joined DW Thomson Consultants as Senior Designer and Specification Writer.
In 1971, Martin joined Seymour Mechanical Services Ltd. as a Plumbing/Fire Protection Estimator and Site Superintendent. During his time at Seymour Mechanical, he was involved in the construction of high rise office towers, senior citizens facilities and schools.
In 1974, Martin rejoined DW Thomson Consultants working in Vancouver and later in Kamloops. He was involved in various projects including Burnaby General Hospital, UBC Hospital and Research Facility and the University of Washington Health Sciences Complex.
In 1984, Martin moved to Sydney, Australia. Some of the major projects designed by Martin included the Australian Embassy in Beijing, Darling Walk Theme Park, Teluk Intan 800-bed Hospital and Ambulatory Clinics in Malaysia, & The Petroleum Engineering, Food Services and Wool Sciences Laboratories for the University of New South Wales.
In July 1991, Martin returned from Australia to join Tricon Consultants Ltd. as a Partner. Projects included the Richmond Multi-Level Care Facility (300 bed), Taylor Manor Care Facility, Port Coquitlam Works Yard/Offices, and the Cariboo Hospital Renovations.
