After graduating from UBC, Myles Sterling started his engineering career with J. Stevenson & Associates, Architects & Engineers, in Calgary, Alberta.
In 1964, he moved to Vancouver and joined DW Thomson Consultants.
From 1966 to 1969, Myles was Senior Engineer for Thompson Berwick Pratt Architects & Engineers, and was responsible for major projects such as the Hotel Vancouver Renovation and the MSA Hospital in Abbotsford.
In 1970, Myles founded Sterling, Cooper & Associates, a firm specializing in the design of mechanical systems for the private and public sectors.
